I wonder if you have the latest bios for Asus N56VZ for windows 10. I upgraded from Windows 7 SP1 to Windows 10 and most things work. However, I cannot duplicate/mirror my laptop screen to external monitor even though I have updated Intel Video Driver and NVidia drivers to the latest. Also, there has been some issues where a specific program hangs. I suspect bios but could not find any update for N56VZ at the Asus Support page and I did not wish to flash a windows 8.1 bios as I read that some people got a BSOD with that.
Will these drivers work with any Asus laptop?I had tried an in place update to Win10 64 bit from Win7 64 bit but would have freezes and lock ups and boot issues, with my ASUS K72JK notebook. It would also take long to boot into.I chatted with ASUS on line and they said it sounded like a hardware issue, but it was working fine in Windows 7. They repeated that they felt 10 was not supported as they would have updated the drivers.I had checked the memory with windows memory diagnostics before the clean install and it was clean and the Sea Tools program said my drive was in good health and chkdsk did not find any issues.I have returned to Windows 7 via the recovery and two days in, not one lock up. I wonder if an update to Win 10 NOW will keep all the needed drivers.
I know that is not due to drivers. It is some service activated randomly (mostly when a mouse is connected via USB). Try to deactivate all non windows drivers and restart. It last almost one month without issues (but sometimes happens again). Then start in troubleshoot mode and mswindows, deactivate services and reactivate again.
I installed Windows 10 from an ISO. Then, I installed the Asus drivers downloaded from this nice blog. I solve the last unknown device detected by Windows device manager: ACPI\INT33A0\0 with this driver: Intel Smart Connect Technology.
I had an issue with the energy saving mode under win10 after upgrade as well as clean install. Finally, the solution was to install the same bios version for Asus UX303LN again! Thanky you so much for the information on this website, best for solving asus windows 10 issues!
My model is A55VM and I struggling to identify the devices on it by manufacturer because after each reinstall Windows update finds drivers by different manufacturer for same device than before. Is there a utility to EXACTLY identify the physical components via Windows?
M8t! 1000 tnx for your work. I am doing air jumps right now! 30 mins ago Intel got an angry msg. Also Asus support is %*&#, just no words. Merci et salutPS: I cannot say if Driver Booster or AVG Driver Updater started my driver chaos, device manager, system devices CHAOS
After a clean install of Win 10 home my ASUS VivoBook S400CA touchscreen is not working. It is not listed in Device Manager under Human Interface Devices (not even in Show hidden devices). Installed latest bios and drivers. Any suggestions?
In the device's Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to update the driver. If updating the driver does not work, see your hardware documentation for more information.
Note You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in, or may still have the driver files installed from the last time that you set up the device. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor's website.
Note You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in, or may still have the driver files installed from the last time that you set up the device. However, sometimes, it will open the New Hardware Wizard which may ask for the driver. The device is installed incorrectly. The problem could be a hardware failure, or a new driver might be needed. Devices stay in this state if they have been prepared for removal. After you remove the device, this error disappears.
A duplicate device was detected. This error occurs when a bus driver incorrectly creates two identically named sub-processes (known as a bus driver error), or when a device with a serial number is discovered in a new location before it is removed from the old location.
Windows cannot apply all of the properties for this device. Device properties may include information that describes the device's capabilities and settings (such as security settings for example). To fix this problem, you can try reinstalling this device. However,we recommend that you contact the hardware manufacturer for a new driver. (Code50)
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
The new HID miniport solution extends the HID protocol, beyond USB and Bluetooth, to support IC devices. IC is a simple but efficient protocol and has been used for over a decade in phone and embedded platforms. This protocol is supported in Windows 8 by an in-box KMDF driver named HIDI2C.sys.
Hi everyone! I received a great help here with the installation of Win7 in my new notebook, now I miss a last step and I have everything working. I have to enable the touchpad, which at the moment is completely not working. Some information: Win 10 shows 4 different HIDs.Win 7, After a bounch of attempts and drivers, I have a multi-touch Serial IO in HID devices, but this device shows the error "The specified device generates a resource conflict. (Error Code 12)"Prior to this situation, I had an unknown device called ACPI / Elan1200, but no drivers were accepted / working. Attached there are the images, much more clear I guess, I hope in some new idea, because I finished them.Thank you for any help!Win 10 :

Thanks for the model info. I will look more later today.Did you try uninstall everything touch related I2C, HID, and ATK etc, then try method mentioned at the reddit pages? Also, have you tried these drivers and methods to update/stop other drivers from installing etc -smart-gesture-and-windows-10/
"There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected". Similar error if I try manual install the INF, "The folder does not contain a compatible driver."
If a USB device is generating the Code 10 error, uninstall every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers hardware category in Device Manager as part of the driver reinstall. This includes any USB Mass Storage Device, USB Host Controller, and USB Root Hub.
I am having the device manager error 12C HID DEVICE CODE 10 its for the touchpad. I have searched through what feels like the entire internet and I have tried everything. I have deleted the driver and restarted, updated bios, reinstalled windows, updated synaptics driver. I have tried everything. The weirdest part is that it will work sometimes when you restart and sometimes it wont. I don't know what to do anymore, it is very frustrating. If anybody knows something I don't much would be appreciated.
Because of this, you may see it after Windows tries to install the driver for a new device. Sometimes, it might prevent CD drives, Bluetooth hardware, or storage devices from showing up in This PC.
When you find the device that appears with an error, try unplugging that device, waiting a few minutes, then plugging it back in. If this has no effect, you should move onto updating or removing the driver for that device.
If that doesn't do anything (which will often be the case), search for your device's name online to see if there's a newer driver available from the manufacturer. Follow our guide to updating old Windows drivers for more help. In case the latest driver doesn't work (perhaps the manufacturer rolled out a buggy update), you can try installing an older version. This isn't a good long-term solution, but it's worth attempting.
In case updating the device driver doesn't work, you should next try replacing or removing the driver. Right-click on the problematic device and choose Properties, followed by the Driver tab, for some options.
If you can't do this, you'll need to select Uninstall Device to completely remove it from your system. After doing so, reboot. Windows should install generic drivers for some devices, like mice and keyboards, upon restarting. However, you'll likely have to reinstall any manufacturer-specific drivers, like those for gaming mice, manually.
You may have to modprobe I2C modules, e.g. i2c-dev, if they are not built in your kernel. After that, you should see something in /sys/bus/i2c/devices/, and have the corresponding device nodes under /dev/i2c*. Now you have to figure out what I2C devices you have (there are probably quite a few: FAN control, temperature sensors, BIOS EEPROMs, etc.), and what the touchpad is. Info from the Windows driver may help.
